The subjects you'll find painted here are those closest to my heart: the marsh, birds, fish, all sorts of wild creatures, landscapes I've connected with, and more. As a lifelong nature nerd, I always thought my path to being a conservationist would be one steeped in science and research. Over time, I discovered my art could be a conduit for sharing my love of wild places with others. A painting can express so much more than words alone, and I want others to feel what I feel when I spend time in nature; a sense of wonder, that quiet thrill at the perfect sunrise, or the peace one gains from time spent in places that feel forgotten –secret creeks shrouded in spartina, a cypress filled oxbow in a blackwater river, or an endless sea grass flat where the line between sky and water become blurred. My desire is to foster a connection between people and these wild, forgotten places. Connection to a place is what inspires people to stand up and protect something they love and I believe that is the key to conserving wild spaces for future generations.
